Waco Summer Shack Exterior Inspiration

We are getting close to the Waco summer shack being ALMOST finished and I can’t wait! This week, I want to share some of our Waco Summer Shack Exterior Inspiration pins. The goal is to design a modern farmhouse with a little California influence in the heart of Waco.

Initially, the intention was to rent it out however, now we’re considering moving back in. Since it is so questionable, the design has to work either way.

I knew it needed to be white from the beginning which gives it a clean, modern feeling, while still maintaining the farmhouse style. Being from California, I also want to make sure we tie in relaxing vibe. Most of this will come with landscaping but the exterior still has to be the perfect backdrop.

This home from Cortney Bishop is the ideal blend of what I am looking to accomplish. I knew this was where we had to start! I don’t know what I love more, the deep teal front door or the palm trees in the reflection of the windows. 🙂 Either way, I gravitate towards it every time I see it on Pinterest. The clean lines and modern finishes make it feel very Californian. We also love the character of similar homes in the south so the goal is to blend something like the home below with our North Bay roots.

Here are some of the ideas I have saved on Pinterest that led towards the Summer shack exterior inspiration.

If you want to see the original house, check out this post I wrote a couple weeks back. I am also happy to share our entire experience renovating and building the house once it’s completed. There have been so many trials and tribulations in this fixer/new build that are so important to share.
