Bedroom Design Challenge

Happy Monday!  As I start this new journey of growing and building Fairesthaven, I wanted to come up with a fresh and new way of designing spaces.  This is the first post in hopefully a regular series where I plan on picking one store to challenge myself by creating and designing an entire space using products only sold at that retailer (and preferably all on sale).  Creating a cohesive, beautiful space should be fun, affordable and easy.

For my first challenge, I picked Target.  I don’t know about you, but I thoroughly enjoy just walking through the aisles at Target each week looking at all the new and beautiful products wishing I had somewhere to put everything.  I am definitely someone that buys WAYY more than what I went in for originally and would completely redo my house each season if I had the budget or space to store everything. Ha!

This week, I tried to design two rooms. The first is a little more on the traditional farmhouse side, while the second is what I would call minimal boho glam.  I prefer white linens so I kept the bedding neutral and the paint color for both spaces is Shoelace by Behr from Home Depot.  I recently used this color in my current bedroom and it is a perfect light beige! We also have pretty dark floors (I couldn’t find the exact color but the one below is a similar version from Lumber Liquidators).

I also included links to all of the products shown below and everything is currently on sale at Target.com!

Traditional Farmhouse

  1. Southwick Farmhouse Queen Metal Headboard with Wood Panel Black – Threshold™ (make sure to also order the bed frame if you don’t already have one-this is what the mattress sits on)
  2. Shelburne Wood 5 Drawer Dresser Brown – Threshold™
  3. Gilead 6 Drawer Dresser in Rustic Gray by ThresholdTM
  4. Alford Rolled Arm Tufted Chair by ThresholdTM
  5. Tammie Medallion Loomed Rug by Safavieh
  6. Pillow Selection– Beige, Green
  7. Abstract Barn Painting
  8. Black and White Highland Cow Canvas by ThresholdTM
  9. Lights – Desk lamp, Geometric lamp
  10. Sweater blanket to cozy up on the corner chair
  11. Gray Vase, Black Vase
  12. Faux greenery

Minimal Boho Glam

  1. Platform Bed by OpalhouseTM in Natural Linen. I love the clean lines, natural color, and texture as one of the largest pieces in the room.
  2. Wood and Gold Side Table (Found this in the living room section; don’t forget to search other parts of the store if a piece could be used somewhere else too)
  3. Charleston Wicker Wood 6 Drawer Dresser Brown by ThresholdTM
  4. Chelmsford Cane Lounge Chair in Natural by ThresholdTM
  5. Turquoise Area Rug
  6. Pillows – Gold Tassel Pillow, Textured Woven Throw Pillow, Turquoise Velvet Throw Pillow
  7. Gold Wall Art Sculpture above bed for depth
  8. Metal Brass Frames (perfect for creating a gallery wall above the dresser)
  9. Pineapple Lamp (Love this!)
  10. Floor Lamp Also comes in a table lamp version here
  11. Turquoise Throw over chair
  12. Candle for top of dresser

Please share your thoughts with me below or if you have a particular retailer you think I should try this on.

All thoughts and designs are my own as this is not a sponsored post.
